Some Dell Precision Workstation 360 Computers came with the JMC DS9238-12HBTL-A Cooling Fan as Original Equipment and as Direct Original Equipment replacement for W0101, on certain upgraded machines and compatible with G8242.
For this application is a Dell 3-pin, 92mm x 38mm, 12 Volt, Variable Speed, Temperature Control fan with the Heat Sensor and is made to work in the Dell Precision Workstation 360 computers.
*Most Dell Precision Workstation 360 computers came equipped with 92mm x 32mm Dell 3-pin fans. In addition, some machines came installed with 92mm x 38mm, 5-pin / 4-wire connectors on certain upgraded models as well. This fan for sale has a Dell 3-pin / 3-wire connector.
Also, check the wire colors and their respective positions in the Dell 3-pin plug on your old fan compared to the new one you are contemplating on purchasing. The typical wire color order for the Dell 3-pin plug is (latch facing you) white, red and black.
However, if the white and red wires on your old fan plug are (red, white and black) reverse, then the wire positions on the new fan plug will need to be swapped out to match the old one. This was a revision from Dell on their select upgraded systems. Neglecting to make this change will result in component and system board failure.
